FAQ

How would you describe your shooting style? do you pose?

I take a documentary/fine art approach. This means that the only time I'll be posing or directing you is during the photoshoot. The rest of the day I'm unobtrusively capturing moments.
I don't pose my couples like puppets. That being said, I also won't leave you alone and clueless if you like to have a little more direction. I will typically put you where the light is epic and then guide you in a direction (e.g. 'facing each other, holding hands') that will make best use of the light and look best in the scene. I'm all about creating a fun environment where you can be yourselves together and I can be there capturing that interaction.  If there is something that looks out of place or weird, I'll be sure to let you know. I strive to capture natural moments and I have found that this is the best way to do this.

How long will it take to get our wedding images?

We are in the age of instant gratification, so I understand that and work hard to make sure your images arrive within 2-4 weeks after your wedding date. Engagement pictures are typically within a week.  I can guarantee you won't find another photographer with a better turnaround time! Most photographers are 6-10 weeks.  Right? #nothanks!

Where can I see some full weddings?

You can check out my blog to see some of my favorite images from weddings and engagement sessions.  Keep in mind this is only a selection of the images I deliver.  If you want to see a full wedding, lets get some coffee and I'll show you some galleries!

Do you photoshop images?

Nope! I really believe people are beautiful the way they are and that is how I capture them–in their happiest of moments, truly themselves.  Let's face it, everyone gets some spots here and there, so I retouch all of those frustrating areas that are not typically there.  If you are looking for edits including weight adjustments, large tattoo removal, or other unnatural requests, we might not be a good fit!

Do you offer engagement sessions?

Yes! I think they are fantastic. It's a great chance to hang out, get to know how I work, and score yourself a new profile picture ;)

Can we meet you?

You sure can. I'd love to catch up and make sure we are a good fit for each other! These meetings usually have to happen on weekdays in summer, otherwise weekends are up for grabs in the off season.

How do we book you and secure the date?

I work on a first come, first served basis. Whoever is first to place the deposit and sign the wedding contract has the date.

Do you travel?

Absolutely! It is one of my favorite things to do.  Send me an email and let me know some details and I'd love to work with you to make it happen.

Do you have insurance & backup gear?

Big yes!  Photography is my life and passion and you bet I take every measure to protect it.

Can we have the 'raw' files?

Nope, nope, nope! Let me explain why.  For one, most computers won't even have the software to open RAW files. They are a lossless file type that stores a massive amount of information and creates a flat image.  Post processing images with coloring/contrast/skin tones/etc. is one of the main reasons you probably like my work. By not giving away RAW images, I can make sure my brand stays consistent. I will deliver full resolution JPEGs organized neatly and ready to print!  Some people might think, "I want to look through them incase you missed some good ones." I can assure you, I cull all the images looking for blinking eyes, missed focus, or any other reason it wouldn't make the cut. It doesn't do me any good to withhold images from my clients, so don't worry! I've never had anyone ask for more pictures thus far. (Knock on wood, ha!)

Do you backup your photos?

100%. I take the security of my couples' images very seriously because I'm the guardian protecting their treasured memories.
